McDonald Lake County Park is located on McDonald Dam Road in Ironwood, Michigan.

 

Unlike the other two campgrounds operated by the Forestry and Parks Commission, it offers rustic, tent-only camping. Campsites are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

*Camping is limited to 7 nights per 30-day period during the normal operating season, as determined by the Commission.

 

The campground has four designated sites. The three lakeshore sites have tent pads and fire rings; the island sites do not.

 

Day-use amenities include a fishing dock, kayak launch, picnic area, vault toilet, and free boat launch.

 

Fishing is popular at McDonald Lake, where species include northern pike, largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie.
